You should brush and floss teeth at least twice a day and visit your dentist every six months may be the words that you have heard as far as you can remember. It's the best advice that you should always pay attention to with regards to dental and gum health, considering that 90% of adults are suffering from gum disease at some point in their lives. Obviously, proper dental hygiene is vital in maintaining dental health. Proper oral hygiene should be taught to your children to help them set up for a brighter dental health future because gum disease or gum infection knows no age. You can never tell when gum disease is going to set in and cause permanent loss of teeth. And this can possibly happen when a person does not pay close attention to proper oral care.
